Quilting of Late
I have an amazing friend that always brings me awesome quilts to work on. Here is her latest quilt.
You really have to see all the detail she has put into this quilt. Ricrac roofing on houses, silver trimmed windows. And look at that tea pot. Isn't it cute? She is adding even more embellishments after the quilting is complete. I can't wait to see it and to show it to you! To top it off, she not only made one of these quilts, she made four! The only bad part of this is that I don't even get one!

One Happy Little Batman
This cute little batman has been asking for a superhero quilt for months now. After all, his older brother has one and doesn't like to share. I finally made him his own quilt. He has so excited to finally have it. And, as always, was appropriately dressed when I gave it to him.
He even gave this two thumbs up!
And here is a close-up of the quilting

My Copy Cat Quilt
My sister made a quilt just like this and I knew I had to have one of my own. It wasn't hard considering I already had the fabric in my "collection". I got busy working on mine shortly after seeing my sister's quilt and ta-da! A finished quilt!
I just love the colors. Now on to a new project!

Is it a stash? Or is it a collection?
I recently discovered that I have quite a large fabric stash that I can't seem to cut into. The fabrics are just so pretty that the thought of cutting them makes me sad. In talking with my fellow quilting friends I learned that not only is this ok, but it is actually very, very normal. Who knew??? So now I am in the process of sorting through my stash. I have two categories: 1. My stash - which I fully intend to use... someday and 2. My new fabric "collection" -which I probably won't use because either A) they are too pretty to be cut into or B) I bought them on a whim because they are so pretty, but really I have no use for them.
Another good thing came from going through my stash. I found these beautiful Garden Party charm packs and I know exactly what I am going to do with them. I will show you soon!
With my new found knowledge of the difference between a collection and a stash I can keep purchasing guilt free! I just hope my husband understands the obvious need for both a stash and a collection!

Pony Express Days Quilt Show & Auction
This is my baby quilt donation for the Quilt Show and Silent Auction during Pony Express Days in Eagle Mountain, UT. All proceeds go to benefit The Cure Starts Now Foundation for children’s pediatric cancer research. What a great cause! Plan to attend the Quilt Show May 26-28 to vote for your favorite quilt and purchase great items. (Seriously, you should go - I have seen some of the awesome stuff!)
My family is so excited for Pony Express Days, there are tons of fun events taking place. I can't decide what to do first! You can find out more about it here.
